Industrialized Building System (IBS)

Industrialized Building System (IBS) is a method of construction whereby components are produced off site or in situ and assembled at the construction site.  In Malaysia many buildings are constructed via IBS especially government and residential buildings.  The advantage of IBS is cost, quality, safety and cleanliness.

The IBS Supply and Demand study was conducted to gauge the supply and demand level of IBS in Malaysia.

Working together with CIDB, BC Consult surveyed organizations approving construction and IBS component manufacturers throughout Malaysia.

This study concluded that even though various construction projects report backlog of IBS deliveries, IBS manufacturers actually have excess capacity and are currently exporting.
